of the mutual aid in the District of Cochrane
-Beginning of training courses of 40, 60 and 140 hours. Half
a dozen firefighters took these courses.
1978-79

Hall: new location and new garage - Official

-Training courses continue and are offered by Ontario's
Commissioner
Beginning
of the '80s
-First
Aid training becomes mandatory for all firefighters
-Bed racing competitions for local firefighters
-Beginning of annual banquets during which at least three fires
broke out

fire suits valued at over $22,000
1994
-Purchase
of a service vehicle which allowed the fire chief to better
evaluate the situation during a fire and for transporting emergency
equipment.
1996
-Purchase
of a rescue vehicle valued at over $45,000 and of a 3,000 gallon
tanker, a "super tanker".
2001
-New
fire suits for forest and brush fires
-Purchase of a portable pump and more than 2,000 feet of hose
valued at over $14,000
