Terms
Terms of office are for four years. The current term extends from November 2022 to November 2026. The last Municipal and School Board Elections were held on October 24, 2022.
Mayor's Role
The Mayor is Head of Council and presides at all meetings of Council and represents it at official functions. The Mayor is an ex-officio member of all committees of the Council. Click here to read a Message from the Mayor.
Councillors' Roles
Municipal Councils combine both legislative and administrative functions. As the law-making body of the City, the Council develops policies and enacts By-laws and resolutions in accordance with its statutory powers.
