When on the line with 9-1-1, please remain calm and speak clearly. Identify which emergency services you require and be ready to provide the following information:

Description of what is happening
The location
Your name, address, and telephone number

Please do not end the call until the call taker tells you.

Disasters always seem to happen elsewhere. At any time, however, in any community, a natural or human-caused disaster may occur. This would result in a large-scale, coordinated response.

Depending on the nature and scale of the event, the Mayor of the affected municipality (or the Premier of Ontario) may declare an emergency.

In our case, this would enact the Moonbeam Emergency Response Plan.

Emergencies can occur within the Town of Moonbeam, and the most likely are:

Arson
Critical infrastructure failure of the water system
Floods
Forest fires
Hydro outage
Major structural fires
Pandemic
Rail transportation accidents
Road transportation accident
Tornadoes
Winter storms
